A retired teacher was arrested on charges of allegedly molesting of nine year old girl here on Thursday. Sources said, J Terrence Philip (65), the retired teacher from a private school from the Trichy city in India, was running a tuition centre at his residence in Subbiah Street, Sangiliyandapuram, Trichy for more than two years. It is said Kavitha (9) (name changed), a class IV student and her elder brother from the same area were going to tuition classes for more than a year. On June 21, Terrence had asked Kavitha"s brother to go out for some work and allegedly harassed Kavitha. Since then, it is said Kavitha showed a kind of aversion to go to tuition classes and her parents asked her the real reason for her change of mind. On Thursday, When the parents insisted her going for the tuition classes, the girl nervously narrated the incident to her mother. Subsequently, her mother lodged a complaint with Golden Rock All Women Police Station who registered a case under section 354 and 4 of Harassment of Women Act and arrested Terrence. Later Terrence was produced the Judicial Magistrate Court V and was remanded to Judicial custody. My friends, this kind of messages cause so much of pain in the heart.
